Terms and conditions

1. About us
myenergy.expert is operated by My Energy Expert Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By using this website and our comparison service, you agree to these terms and conditions in full. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.
These terms apply to all visitors to the site and to all users who submit a quote request through our comparison tool.
2. Our service
My Energy Expert is a free-to-use comparison and lead generation platform for residential solar panel and battery storage installations in the United Kingdom. We do not sell or install equipment ourselves. We connect homeowners with MCS-certified installers who provide independent, no-obligation quotes.
We earn affiliate commission from installers when an MCS-certified installation is completed on a lead we generated. Our service is entirely free to homeowners.
We make no guarantee that your quote request will result in a match, that any matched installer will contact you within a specific timeframe, or that you will find an installer willing to carry out work at your property. We recommend obtaining quotes from multiple sources.
3. Installer network
All installers in our network hold, or have represented that they hold, a current MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) certification at the time of approval. We conduct checks at onboarding and periodically thereafter, but we cannot guarantee that every installer's certification remains current and valid at the time of any given installation.
We strongly recommend that you verify an installer's MCS certificate directly via the MCS installer database (mcscertified.com) before entering into any contract.
We are not party to any contract between you and an installer. Any contract for installation work is solely between you and the installer. Any disputes regarding installation quality, pricing, or conduct must be directed to the installer in the first instance, and to the MCS complaints process or relevant trade bodies thereafter.
We limit the number of installers who receive your details to a maximum of 3 per quote request, and we do not share your personal data with any company outside of this matched group.
4. Quote requests and your data
By submitting a quote request through our comparison tool, you consent to your contact details and property/energy information being shared with up to 3 matched installers for the purpose of providing you with a quote. Each installer will process your data under their own privacy policy.
We will also push your details to our CRM system (HubSpot) for internal records and may contact you regarding your quote request. We will not contact you for any other marketing purpose without your separate consent.
Your quote request remains valid for 12 months from submission, after which we will no longer actively promote your details to installers.
For full details of how we handle personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.
